Katie underwent breast reduction surgery with Adam Critchley after reading his stellar reviews. She has opened up about why she chose to have this procedure, why Adam was the best person for the job, and how supportive Mr Critchley and his team were during and after the surgery.
Name: Katie
Procedure: Breast reduction
Why did you decide to undergo breast surgery?
I was extremely self conscious about my body and the size of my breasts. I could never find clothes that fit me – they were either too tight to fit my chest or too baggy everywhere else. I had thought about breast reduction surgery for a very long time before going ahead.
Why did you choose Adam Critchley as your breast surgeon?
I chose Adam Critchley after doing a lot of research and finding him on the Nuffield Health website. He had great reviews. During my first consultation with him, he made me feel comfortable to ask questions and provided me with all the information I needed.
How was your initial consultation with Adam Critchley?
My initial consultation was informative and helped me make the decision to go ahead with surgery. Mr Critchley gave me all the information I needed and made me feel as though I could ask as many questions as I needed before I decided. He explained things in a way I could understand and clarified everything for me.
What was your experience like on the day of surgery with Adam Critchley and his team?
As expected on the day of the surgery I was nervous, but from the moment I got to the hospital I was made to feel at ease. Mr Critchley came to see that I was okay and had a chat with me beforehand. Other members of his team came and explained their role to me and answered any questions I had. As I was being prepped for surgery, everyone was lovely and took my mind off everything. During my stay, I was checked on regularly. I could not fault the process or the team that took care of me.
How was the recovery after your surgery?
My recovery went well. I did encounter a complication while Mr Critchley was on annual leave, however he still rang me whilst on holiday to reassure me and booked me in for a follow-up when he was back to check everything himself. Mr Critchley seemed to always have time for me and booked me in for as many appointments as needed just to monitor the issue – which turned out to be absolutely fine!
What advice would you give to someone else considering breast surgery?
I would just say to research the procedure beforehand and make sure it’s something that you really want.
I have never regretted my decision.
